Taaroa Sword Foil Girl

I love Paul’s video “Foiling in Venezuela” and he inspired me to do my own foiling video – the girl’s version. It took me quite some time to create the video especially finding license free music that matches my ideas. I wanted to do a video that’s fun to watch. So I hope you like it!

Raley to Blind – El Yaque | Coche Island

So finally here it is: My first video edited with Final Cut Pro. I bought the license for the song from Beatpick. The videos are shot with GoPros in Coche Island and El Yaque. In Coche I was training with my 2013 Cabrinha Xo Caliber board 129cm with foot straps. I’m still getting used to boots. In El Yaque I used my 2014 XCaliber Alberto Rondina Signature Carbon board 132cm with boots. And of course my so loved 2014 Cabrinha Siren kites 😉

I am proud to have been part of this video and the DRIKA team and I am really enthusiastic about the bikinis. Campeonato Nacional WK – Venezuelan National Kitesurf & Windsurf Championship

The 3rd tour stop of the Campeonato Nacional Windsurf & Kitesurf 2014 took place in El Yaque from May 9th till May 11th, 2014. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to the first two stops. As I came back from Coche just before the start of the competition, I wasn’t able to train and try out the course like all the others. They didn’t put a schedule on the website or social media so it was hard for me to find out where and when registration was and when riders meetings will be held. I wrote them an email and they replied in a very friendly way where and when I could register. And through a friend who’s mom is with the organization I received the following itinerary:

4 Days Kiting at Coche Island

I initially booked the hotel for only two nights but then decided to stay two additional nights. Coche can be pretty crowded but this time I lucked out. Everybody was training for the upcoming competition in El Yaque and there were only very few kiters in Coche. Often I was alone on the water. Perfect to progress in Freestyle. I also wanted to use my time alone in Coche to learn how to use my NIKON V2 camera. I am especially interested in learning how to take good photos of kiteboarders doing tricks. You can see the results in the photos.

On our agenda for today was a walk through Recoleta neighborhood with its famous cemetery, to check out the feria de Recoleta (outdoor market with artisan goods), to check out the Four Seasons Hotel and the Park Hyatt Hotel, eat Argentine meat (including me as a vegetarian!) and to experience Buenos Aires nightlife.

Buenos Aires, Argentina – Day 3

Paul is feeling a little sick and we decided to sleep in and take it slow today. As usual we started the day at Starbucks and had some fun with our milk mustaches:

Buenos Aires, Argentina Day 2 – Tango Show Time

For today we planned attending a Tango show. We informed ourselves about all the different venues. Friends recommended us Señor Tango, the most outrageous of them all with lots of special effects. Many shows include dinner, or you can book the show only. Prices vary tremendously, depending on the venue and how you have booked. We prefer small places and ended up booking the show at El Viejo Almacen through the hotel concierge. We decided not to book dinner & show as the reviews for the dinner were no the best.
